What counts as perfect

A drop is perfect when the moving block lines up with the block below to within 4 pixels – about one percent of the 400-pixel-wide play area. A perfect drop is not sliced at all: the new floor snaps exactly onto the one below and keeps its full width. You see a white outline flash around the block, a burst of sparkles, a rising chime and the word PERFECT!

Combos grow your block back

Perfect drops in a row build a combo, shown as 'combo ×N' under the score and as PERFECT ×N on the tower. From the third perfect drop in a row, every perfect drop also grows your block by 8 pixels, up to a maximum width of 200 pixels – wider than the 160-pixel block you start a level with. This is the only way to recover width, so streaks matter more than anything else. Any drop that is not perfect resets the combo to zero.

Why perfect drops matter for score

Each floor gives 1 point and each perfect drop gives 2 extra, so a perfect floor is worth three times a normal one. Coins are one per 3 points, so a run of perfect drops also fills your wallet for the Pet Shop faster.

Timing tips

Watch the edge of the moving block, not its centre, and line it up with the matching edge of the block below. Tap slightly before it reaches alignment, because your finger takes a moment. On desktop, Space or Enter is more precise than a mouse click. The block changes direction after each drop, so the next one always comes from the other side – get ready for it.

Speed by level

The block gets faster each level, so a timing that worked on Level 2 may be late on Level 8. If you keep missing on one side, you are probably tapping late; try tapping a fraction earlier. From around Level 16 the speed stops increasing.

When the block gets thin

A thin block is harder to align, but each perfect drop still counts, and three in a row starts regrowth. Slow down, breathe and aim for one perfect at a time. When the block gets very narrow the pet face disappears from it – a sign that one more slice could end the round.

FAQ

Can the block get wider than at the start?

Yes. Perfect-combo regrowth can take it up to 200 pixels, wider than the 160-pixel start.

Does the pet I choose change the block size?

No. Pets are cosmetic; every pet block behaves the same.
