Drop-and-merge (physics)
Drop pieces into a jar and merge matching ones. Easy to learn and very replayable because the physics make every round different. This is the genre made famous by the watermelon (Suika) game. Start here: Blob Drop on this site, with 11 blob levels, combo multipliers and daily goals. If you are new, read What Are Drop-and-Merge Games?.
Number merge (2048-style)
Slide or drop numbered tiles on a grid; equal numbers combine into their sum. Pure logic, no physics, and you can usually take as long as you like over each move. Search interest in number merge games has been rising in 2026. Ours is Number Merge 2048, with undo and three board sizes.
Board merge
Combine items on a board to build or decorate something – a garden, a house, a café. Sessions are longer and slower, and many of these games use energy timers or ask you to wait, which suits players who like long-term building more than quick rounds.
What to look for in any merge game
Whatever type you pick, a few things separate good merge games from bad ones. First, can you plan? A visible next piece (Blob Drop shows it in the NEXT box) turns luck into strategy. Second, is the ending fair? In Blob Drop a blob must rest above the line for about two seconds before the round ends, so a bounce is forgiven. Third, does it respect your time? Automatic saving – Blob Drop saves every two seconds – means you can stop whenever you need to. Finally, check that rewards come from playing, not paying: in our games coins are earned only by playing and buy only cosmetic skins.
How to choose
If you want something for a two-minute break, pick a drop-and-merge or number game. If you like long-term building, board merge games fit better. If you want something even simpler than merging – one tap and no aiming – try our stacking game Pet Tower.
