The 'watermelon game' (Suika Game) made drop-and-merge puzzles hugely popular: you drop fruit into a box, two of the same fruit merge into a bigger fruit, and you try to reach the watermelon before the box overflows. Blob Drop: same genre, original game

Blob Drop is our original game in this genre. Instead of fruit you merge round blobs with blinking faces, from the tiny Dot to the Galaxy Blob – 11 levels in total. It is not affiliated with Suika Game or its publisher; it simply follows the same easy-to-learn drop-and-merge rule. All code, art and sound in Blob Drop are made by us: the blobs are drawn by the game itself and the sounds are generated live in the browser.

How it plays

You aim at the top of the jar, release, and the blob falls with real physics – rolling, bouncing and pushing the others. Matching blobs that touch merge on contact, and the new, bigger blob can immediately touch another match, so one drop can set off a chain. The round ends only when a blob rests above the dashed line for about two seconds, so a quick bounce over the line is forgiven. Full rules: How to Play Blob Drop.

What is different from the classic

Blob Drop adds a combo multiplier for chain merges (up to ×5), a 2,000-point Galaxy Burst when two Galaxies merge, three daily goals that change every day, five colour skins bought with coins you earn, one revive per round and automatic saving every two seconds, so you can close the tab and CONTINUE later. The NEXT box always shows what comes after the blob you are holding.

Play anywhere

It runs in the browser on phones, tablets, laptops and Chromebooks, with touch, mouse or keyboard (arrow keys or A/D and Space). There is nothing to install and no account to create. On phones, portrait mode works best; on the Blob Drop page there is also a fullscreen button.

Tips if you are coming from Suika
