The goal
Blob Drop is a physics merge puzzle. You drop small blobs into a jar; when two blobs of the same level touch, they instantly merge into one blob of the next level. Keep merging all the way from the tiny Dot to the Galaxy Blob while the jar slowly fills up. There is no timer – the only thing that can end your round is the jar overflowing.
There are 11 blob levels in total. A strip of small blobs under the jar shows the whole ladder, and the blobs you have not reached yet are shown faded, so you always know what comes next. The full list is in All 11 Blob Levels.
Controls
On a phone or tablet, touch the jar and drag left or right to aim; a thin guide line shows where the blob will fall. Lift your finger to drop. With a mouse, move to aim and click to drop. On a keyboard, the left and right arrow keys (or A and D) move the aim and Space, Enter or the down arrow drops.
After each drop there is a short cooldown of under half a second, so you cannot spam blobs into the same spot. The game blocks page scrolling while you play, so your swipes never move the page.
What you can drop
Only the five smallest sizes come out of the dropper: Dot, Pip, Bean, Bubble and Puff. Small ones are the most common, and a Puff only shows up about one time in twenty. The NEXT box at the top shows the blob that comes after the one you are holding, so you can always plan one move ahead.
When does the game end?
There is a dashed line near the top of the jar. A blob only counts as dangerous once it has been in the jar for over a second, sits above the line and is almost still. If that lasts for about 2.2 seconds, the round ends. The line flashes red while the danger timer is running, and the timer drains twice as fast as it fills once the jar is safe again – so a blob that only bounces over the line for a moment does not end the game.
Scoring and combos
Every merge scores points, and bigger merges score much more: two Dots give 10 points, two Bubbles give 100 and two Planets give 550. Merges that happen within about 1.2 seconds of each other build a combo, and the combo multiplies the points of each merge up to ×5. Saving and continuing
Your best score, coins, unlocked skins and the game in progress are saved in your browser every two seconds and whenever you switch tabs. Close the tab and come back later, and press CONTINUE on the start screen to pick up where you left off.
FAQ
How long does a round of Blob Drop last?
As long as you can keep the jar from overflowing. Careful players can play a single round for a long time, and you can stop at any moment because the round is saved.
Can I choose which blob I drop?
No. The blob you hold and the next one are random, picked from the five smallest sizes. You choose only where to drop it.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Open the Blob Drop page and press PLAY. Progress is stored in your browser on that device.
