The merge chain
There are 11 blob levels. In order: 1 Dot, 2 Pip, 3 Bean, 4 Bubble, 5 Puff, 6 Jelly, 7 Mochi, 8 Cloud, 9 Moon, 10 Planet, 11 Galaxy. Two blobs of the same level merge into one blob of the next level. Each level is noticeably bigger than the one before – the Galaxy is almost eight times as wide as a Dot – and the Galaxy has small sparkles circling it so you can recognise it at a glance.
Points for each merge
Merging two blobs of a level gives: Dot 10, Pip 30, Bean 60, Bubble 100, Puff 150, Jelly 210, Mochi 280, Cloud 360, Moon 450, Planet 550 (this one creates a Galaxy) and Galaxy 660. These are base values; a combo multiplies them up to ×5.
Which levels drop from the top?
Only the five small sizes come out of the dropper. Dots are the most common (about a third of drops), then Pips, Beans and Bubbles, while a Puff appears only about one drop in twenty. Everything from Jelly upwards has to be built by merging, so your top blob is a good measure of how well you planned.
How many drops does a Galaxy take?
Because each level needs two of the level below, a Galaxy is worth 1,024 Dots in theory. In practice the dropper hands you bigger starting sizes and the jar does much of the work, which is why planning chains matters more than speed. A useful rule: each level takes twice as much material as the one before, so the second Moon you need for a Planet costs exactly as much work as the first one did.
Milestones
Reaching a Mochi or anything bigger shows a little celebration message. Your record top blob is saved and shown on the start screen next to your coins and best score, and the game-over screen tells you the biggest blob of that round. Making a Mochi, Cloud or Moon is also one of the possible daily goals.
Galaxy Burst
Merging two Galaxy Blobs creates a Galaxy Burst: both Galaxies disappear in a shower of gold, you get the merge points plus a 2,000-point bonus, and you gain a lot of free space in the jar. It is the biggest single scoring moment in the game and needs the most careful planning – see our strategy tips.
FAQ
What is the biggest blob in Blob Drop?
The Galaxy, level 11. Two Galaxies do not make a bigger blob; they burst for a 2,000-point bonus.
Why does my blob strip show faded blobs?
The strip under the jar fades the levels above your all-time record, so you can see which blobs you have not made yet.
